The SPE Press as a unit under the auspices of NASES (National Association of Special Education Students) has been in existence for the past fifteen years. It was one of the press organisations reckoned with on campus in those glorious days of the board.

From 1998-99 however, the board suffered a huge setback in that the specialists of the days failed to contribute their quota to the management of the board. Luck however set in with the admission of some promising pen-pushers and the board came alive again through 2000/2001 set. This saw to the emergence of the nomination of Mr. Adedokun Adewale Philip as the Acting Editor-in-chief. He was later appointed the editor-in-chief in January 2001.

Editor-in-Chief: Mr Adedokun Adewale Philip became the Editor in January 2001, and he bagged the UCJ Award  as the Best Newswriter of the year 2001.
